Jamaica SIM Card

A prepaid Jamaica SIM card with an international cell phone is the most convenient and economical solution for staying in touch while you travel in Jamaica. All incoming calls while you travel in Jamaica are FREE, regardless of where they originate. Pay the local rate for local calls and use a cellular phone in Jamaica like you do at home. And unlike home, your Jamaica SIM card and cell phone service is prepaid so there is no need for a contract.

Domestic Calls

Enjoy FREE incoming calls with your Jamaica SIM card. All rates are listed per minute, but charged per second, for domestic outgoing calls from a Jamaica prepaid SIM card while you travel in Jamaica.

International Calls

Making international calls from your Jamaica mobile phone has never been easier than with your prepaid Jamaica SIM card. All rates are listed per minute, but charged per second, for international outgoing calls from a Jamaica prepaid SIM card while in Jamaica.

All international calls are charged at JMD $17.75 (approx. US$0.26) per minute.

All international text messages (SMS) are charged at JMD $6.00 (approx. US$0.09) per message.

Roaming Calls (calls placed when traveling outside of the country)

GPRS Data Rates (Wireless Internet)

If you plan on doing any data transmission in Jamaica, GPRS is a high speed data service available to Digicel prepaid Jamaica SIM subscribers. A GPRS compatible phone is required. Your prepaid Jamaica SIM card comes with an initial starter airtime credit of JMD $100 (approx. US$1.40). You can top-up your prepaid Jamaica SIM card by purchasing a top-up card (airtime vouchers), also called "FLEXcard", not another SIM card. These airtime vouchers are available from Telestial and locally in Jamaica at local tabac shops, convenience stores, Digicel shops and authorized dealers. FLEXtime airtime vouchers are available in several denominations:

• JMD $100 (approx. US$1.44) - Valid for 21 days after loading
• JMD $200 (approx. US$2.88) - Valid for 28 days after loading
• JMD $300 (approx. US$4.32) - Valid for 35 days after loading
• JMD $500 (approx. US $7.20) - Valid for 42 days after loading
• JMD $1000 (approx. US $14.44) - Valid for 120 days after loading
• JMD $5000 (approx. US $72.11) - Valid for 150 days after loading

To recharge your Jamaica service, please

• Purchase a Digicel recharge card
• Scratch off the protective layer to reveal your recharge voucher code
• Enter *121*13-digit voucher number# and then press �yes/ok/send�
• For example if your 13 digit top-up voucher is 1234567891023, you must dial *121*1234567891023# then press �yes/ok/send�
• You will be notified via SMS

To check the balance of your Jamaica SIM card, simply enter *120# and press �yes/ok/send�. The system will send back a message to confirm your balance and expiry date.

Remember: Do not purchase another Jamaica SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted! You only need a Jamaica recharge voucher! Your incoming calls are always free, even when you run out of airtime.

If you do not recharge your account within 3 months after the expiration of the last top up card (FLEXcard) you loaded, your prepaid Jamaica SIM card will only receive calls. In order to place calls, you will need to top-up your Jamaica service. If you do not recharge for an additional 30 days, your Jamaica SIM card will automatically be terminated which means you will need to purchase another SIM card and a new number will be provisioned.
