About the Rasta Man promotion

Jamaica has always had a unique connection with everything Rasta. In fact, the Rastafarian way of life has its roots in the teachings of the Jamaican black-nationalist Marcus Garvey, who in the 1930s preached a message of black self empowerment, and initiated the "Back to Africa" movement.

Today, the Rasta culture permeates all facets of Jamaican life. The Rastafarian religion is often associated with the poorer black population of Jamaica. Rastafarians often speak out against poverty, oppression and inequality, and use the Bible for guidance, although it is interpreted through black eyes. One example of this is the Rastafarian name for God - Jah - which crops up throughout the songs Bob Marley - the undisputed heavyweight of Reggae music.

Rastafarians have always been associated with ganja or marijuana, which is used not only for spiritual purposes as in their Nyabingi celebration, but also for medicinal purposes for colds and such. One final characteristic of Rastafarians is dreadlocks, which symbolize Rasta roots, contrasting the straight, blond look of the white man and establishment.

If your travels take you to Jamaica, don't forget to bring your positive vibrations, along with your international GSM mobile phone and Jamaica SIM card.

No contract or monthly fees so how do I buy more airtime?

Your Jamaica cell phone service is all prepaid so you only buy airtime as you need it. Airtime vouchers are available locally throughout Jamaica at local convenience stores. Click the 'View Details' link under the included SIM card(s) to learn more about adding airtime.

Why rent or roam when you can own?

In the past your only options were expensive: to pay over $1/minute for a cell phone rental or more expensive: pay international roaming surcharges to your local home wireless provider. With Telestial's Rasta Man promotion, you can now avoid those exorbitant rental and per minute charges often associated with a cell phone rental.

Here, there and almost everywhere!

Don't forget that the cell phone included with your Rasta Man promo is capable of working in over 170 countries and can be used with any of our Local SIM cards or Roaming SIM cards!

All Special Promotions are valid until Sep 30, 2009
